It’s not just about the next object ball; it’s also about where the cue ball will be about hitting the object ball. The best position is to leave yourself with options of balls to hit. The positioning is always imprecise, so it’s far better to anticipate that imprecision and look for a strategic position with various options. This is so important in life: Giving yourself the freedom to choose is the best gift you can give to your future self.
